It’s time to get warm & cozy.
Here in Calgary it’s certainly starting to feel like Winter and as I write this it’s actually started to snow.
One of my favourite things in the wintery months is to curl up with the fire on, a cozy blanket, a great book and something warm to drink.
This Black-Cherry Apple Cider does just the trick! It starts off with the classic apple cider flavours and then you add black cherry juice and a cinnamon stick to make it the perfect combination.
So go grab a cozy spot in your house and make a batch of this cider; I promise you will have the best day.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Equipment: medium pot
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
3 cups apple cider
1 cup black cherry juice
1 cinnamon stick
Instructions:
Add the cider and black cherry juice to a large pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add in the cinnamon stick and turn to simmer (medium-low) for 10 minutes.
Take off the heat and let sit about 5 minutes. Serve warm.
Cook’s Note: I’m always able to find black cherry juice as most local health food stores or in the juice aisle of most grocery stores. If you can’t find it, cranberry juice makes a nice substitute.
Another option is to use this drink cool as a wonderful cocktail! Simply let the mixture cool and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then to your glasses of cider add prosecco for a wintry cocktail delight.
Until the next cooking adventure,
Jess
