<p>Here in Calgary it&rsquo;s certainly starting to feel like Winter and as I write this it&rsquo;s actually started to snow.</p>
<p>One of my favourite things in the wintery months is to curl up with the fire on, a cozy blanket, a great book and something warm to drink.</p>
<p>This Black-Cherry Apple Cider does just the trick!&nbsp; It starts off with the classic apple cider flavours and then you add black cherry juice and a cinnamon stick to make it the perfect combination.</p>
<p>So go grab a cozy spot in your house and make a batch of this cider; I promise you will have the best day.<span id="more-584"></span></p>
<p><strong>Total Time:</strong> 15 minutes<br>
<strong>Equipment:</strong> medium pot<br>
<strong>Servings:</strong> 4</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p>3 cups apple cider<br>
1 cup black cherry juice<br>
1 cinnamon stick</p>
<p><strong>Instructions:</strong></p>
<p>Add the cider and black cherry juice to a large pot and bring to a boil.&nbsp; Once boiling, add in the cinnamon stick and turn to simmer (medium-low) for 10 minutes.</p>
<p>Take off the heat and let sit about 5 minutes. Serve warm.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-586" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Black-Cherry-Apple-Cider1.jpg" alt="Black-Cherry Apple Cider l cookinginmygenes.com" width="666" height="899" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Black-Cherry-Apple-Cider1.jpg 666w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Black-Cherry-Apple-Cider1-207x280.jpg 207w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Black-Cherry-Apple-Cider1-222x300.jpg 222w" sizes="(max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Black-Cherry-Apple-Cider1.jpg"></p>
<p><em><strong>Cook&rsquo;s Note:</strong> I&rsquo;m always able to find black cherry juice as most local health food stores or in the juice aisle of most grocery stores. If you can&rsquo;t find it, cranberry juice makes a nice substitute.</em></p>
<p>Another option is to use this drink cool as a wonderful cocktail! Simply let the mixture cool and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then to your glasses of cider add prosecco for a wintry cocktail delight.</p>
<p>Until the next cooking adventure,<br>
Jess</p>
