Using seasonal winter produce, there are delicious recipes to make in February!

From cozy soups, to tacos and a bright citrus smoothie, there’s a variety to choose from.

Plus I’m sharing some of my favourite chocolate appetizers for the Super Bowl and treats for Valentine’s Day.

The recipes this time of year are super cozy and easy to make. I LOVE a good soup recipe that comes together easily and is packed with flavour. I add white beans to my healthy broccoli cheddar soup and creamy potato soup too which gives them a protein boost!

We made it through January and the days are starting to get a tad longer which means more time to enjoy all of the delicious produce this month. And, do not miss out on all the citrus shining bright this season!

A batch of cozy, February recipe inspiration coming your way!

I’m still cooking and baking up many cozy recipes.

So, let’s chat all about which recipes to make in February and some cookbook inspiration!February is my birthday month so there’s a few favourite dishes and cocktails I can’t wait to make:

We’re enjoying this Coconut Cake from Ina Garten for both mine and my husbands birthday.
I’m still sipping this Winter Spiced Old Fashioned on weekends.
I’ll be making a batch of these One Bowl Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, my Mom’s classic recipe!
Definitely going to cheers with one of these Blood Orange Negroni’s too!
We’ll probably enjoy these Sweet & Spicy Hot Chili Chicken Noodles from Ambitious Kitchen a few times.

Between winter walks it seems my plan for February is practically eating! I truly find so much comfort in making and baking a lot doing the cooler months so I just lean into it and enjoy.

Another fresh batch of recipe inspiration coming your way!

Lately I’ve been enjoying baking and making cozy soups, perfect activities for the Winter.

So let’s get into the recipes to make in February!

It’s my birthday month and the month of love all in one! So, I’ll be treating myself to some of my favourite indulgences like:

Coconut Chicken Fingers from How Sweet Eats

Lobster Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes from A Cozy Kitchen

Peanut Butter ‘Reeses’ Eggs from Ambitious Kitchen

And if you love a treat on the weekend like me, check out my Decadent Hot Chocolate Board; it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day! You can easily package up some fun hot chocolate toppings and pair with the ingredients to make the hot chocolate. Or, wrap up a locally-made hot chocolate mix with fun toppings. Either way, it’s an easy and perfect gift OR just to make for yourself at home!

A great book is perfect to cozy up with that hot chocolate you’re making and I’ve read a few really great ones lately. So, here’s a few if you’re looking for something new to read:

Love, Loss and What We Ate by Padma Lakshmi (for my fellow Top Chef friends!)

Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand (this is the first in a series and was lovely to read in the Winter-time)

The Fifth Avenue Story Society by Rachel Hauck (set in NYC if you’re looking for a little escape)

What’s In Season – Monthly Favourites

Well the beginning of the year sure flew by and here we are in February!

I took the beginning of the year a little slower, took some time to reflect on last year and start planning for this year.

And so here are my favourite things from this past month and What’s In Season to make for February!

This first weekend in February is pretty much the best in my mind; it’s Super Bowl (I love football!) and we usually celebrate both my husband’s and my birthdays. So, this weekend is full of delicious food and cake!

Each year I make us a cake so this year we chose to make something a little nostalgic. Do you remember those ‘rainbow chip’ cakes from when you were a kid?! It was a vanilla cake with rainbow chocolate chips and a rainbow chip icing. I LOVED all of the colours and those rainbow chips, YUM!

So, I found a recipe in one of our cookbooks, Date Night In, that is a homemade version of that rainbow chip cake! It’s a two layer cake with a cream cheese icing and all of the rainbow chips you could ever want! It also pairs perfectly with a glass of prosecco (just sayin’ 😉 )

Not only are we having cake this weekend but I’m making these Buffalo Cauliflower Lettuce Wraps to accompany our Super Bowl game-watching!

And if you need a little more snacking inspo for the big game, check out my Kettle Chip BBQ Chicken Nachos recipe that’s simple to make and perfect for a crowd.
