Add all ingredients to a small pot. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat and simmer 5 minutes to allow flavours to meld. Allow to totally cool before using. (If you want to use immediately, pour into a jar or cup and cool in the fridge).
Remove cinnamon sticks and orange peel. Store in the fridge until ready to use.
Apple Cider Bourbon Fizz
In a cocktail shaker or mason jar with a lid combine apple cider, bourbon, squeeze of orange or lemon juice and simple syrup.
Add ice and shake. Strain into a glass, with ice if preferred and top with prosecco or champagne.
Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks if desired.

Simply stir together the ingredients in Step 1 in a glass for about 30 seconds to combine.You can store simple syrup in the fridge for 2 weeks.Want to make this for a gathering?
