<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Boursin cheese is layered with fig jam and topped with pistachios for the easiest appetizer made in just 5 minutes.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Just keep the ingredients for this easy appetizer in the fridge and pantry so you can whip it up anytime. Make this appetizer and it&rsquo;s sure to be the hit of the party!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The holiday season is always busy so when I&rsquo;m entertaining I reach for my quickest appetizers like this <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/whipped-ricotta-dip-hot-honey/">Quick Whipped Ricotta Dip with Hot Honey</a> and this viral <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/easy-goat-cheese-appetizer-fig-jam/">Easy Goat Cheese Appetizer with Fig Jam &amp; Pecans</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-1067x1600.jpg" alt="cracker dipping into boursin appetizer" class="wp-image-13526" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7415.jpg"></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But this 3 Ingredient Boursin Appetizer might be my quickest yet and I always keep this recipe in my back pocket! It&rsquo;s the perfect combination of sweet and savory and there are a variety of boursin cheeses you can use to make it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Boursin cheese is a soft cheese and most notably can be found at local grocery stores in a variety of flavours.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why you&rsquo;ll love this boursin appetizer</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Quick: </strong>This boursin appetizer can be whipped up in just 5 minutes!</li>

<li><strong>Easy:</strong> The best part is you need just 3 simple ingredients to make this perfect appetizer.</li>

<li><strong>Delicious:&nbsp;</strong>The sweetness of the fig jam with the savory flavor of the Boursin cheese is irresistable!</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-1067x1600.jpg" alt="boursin cheese, fig, hot honey on a cheese board" class="wp-image-13528" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8016.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ingredients needed</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" id="isPasted"><strong>Boursin Cheese:</strong> You will need two packages of Garlic &amp; Herb Boursin Cheese; see below for other Boursin flavour options!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fig Jam:</strong> Fig jam is synonymous with the holiday season and I love it as the sweet component to this sweet and savory appetizer</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Pistachios:</strong> make sure to use salted pistachios for the most flavour</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-1067x1600.jpg" alt="boursin cheese and fig jam spread on a serving plate" class="wp-image-13530" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-8019.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make this easy appetizer</h2>

<ol id="isPasted" class="wp-block-list">
<li>Remove the Boursin cheese from the fridge 10-15 minutes before assembling. (This part is optional but it makes the Boursin cheese easier to spread).</li>

<li>Use the back of the spoon to press / spread the softened Boursin cheese onto a plate, in a low bowl or onto a platter.</li>

<li>Spread the fig jam over the top of the Boursin cheese.</li>

<li>Sprinkle the chopped pistachios over top of the fig jam. Optional: Drizzle hot honey over top, a lot or as little as you desire.</li>

<li>Serve with crackers.</li>
</ol>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-1067x1600.jpg" alt="hot honey drizzling overtop of boursin fig appetizer" class="wp-image-13525" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7402.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Types of creamy boursin cheese to use in this quick appetizer</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Garlic &amp; Fine Herbs: </strong>I use the Garlic &amp; Fine Herbs Boursin Cheese in this appetizer for the best sweet and savoury flavors</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Cracked Black Pepper:</strong> The Cracked Black Pepper would give this a bit of a spice kick and it pairs really well with the sweet fig jam.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Caramelized Onion &amp; Herbs:</strong> This would be a bit more of a milder sweet and savory combination than the Garlic &amp; Fine Herbs.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-1067x1600.jpg" alt="boursin fig appetizer with crackers" class="wp-image-13523" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/3-ingredient-boursin-appetizer-7376.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Expert tips</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Hot honey: This is totally optional but if I have some on hand, I like to finish this dip with a drizzle of hot honey.</li>

<li>Serve with: You can serve with your favorite crackers (I would choose something with sea salt so that the flavors of the dip shine through). Or even pita chips, apple slices or hunks or crusty bread for a rustic presentation.</li>

<li>Make ahead: Spread the Boursin cheese in the serving dish and then top with the fig jam. Cover and store in the fridge. Remove from the fridge about 15-20 minutes before serving to take the chill off. Then, top with pistachios and serve.</li>
</ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">After making my&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/baked-brie-with-maple-cinnamon-apples-and-pecans/">baked brie with maple cinnamon apples</a>, I knew I had to make another baked brie packed with Fall flavors. This baked brie appetizer, however, incorporates store-bought puff pastry, so you get delicious puff pastry in every bite. It&rsquo;s truly a crowd pleaser during the holiday season.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The best part about this impressive appetizer is that you can even make it ahead of time, so it&rsquo;s perfect if you have a ton of prep before a holiday party or gathering.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ingredients needed</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Puff Pastry Dough: </strong>You&rsquo;ll find this in the freezer aisle at the grocery store. Make sure it defrosts completely before using!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Brie Cheese:</strong> If you can, use double creme or triple creme brie! In a pinch, you can use Camembert cheese which has a very similar taste profile.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fig jam:</strong> sweet fig jam pairs beautifully with the creamy baked brie</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Egg:</strong> Don&rsquo;t skip out on the egg wash. It&rsquo;ll make the puff pastry super golden and shiny.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Garnishes: </strong>spruce up the presentation of this baked brie by garnishing with herbs like fresh rosemary or fresh thyme; chopped pecans; and, a drizzle of honey</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-1067x1600.jpg" alt="wheel of brie with fig jam on a piece of puff pastry" class="wp-image-12991" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-7706.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make this recipe</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 1:</strong> Preheat your oven to 400&deg;Fahrenheit.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 2:</strong> Line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Lay the defrosted puff pastry sheet on the prepared parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the wheel of Brie cheese in the middle of the puff pastry, and then spread the fig jam on top of the cheese.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 3:</strong> Wrap the wheel of brie with the puff pastry by folding the corners over the cheese, working around in a circle to make a closed cheese package. You want to make sure the cheese is completely enclosed!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 4:</strong> Brush over with a whisked egg. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the puff pastry is a deep golden brown.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 5: </strong>Let it cool for 5 minutes, then lift the baked brie using the parchment paper onto a serving plate or serving platter. Garnish with minced fresh herbs like rosemary, chopped pecans, and a drizzle of honey.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Step 6:</strong> Serve with seasonal fresh fruit, crackers, or crostini!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tips &amp; Tricks</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>One of my hosting tricks is making homemade crostini! It makes a huge difference, and your guests will love it. &nbsp;Preheat your oven to 400&deg;Fahrenheit and slice a baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Brush baguette slices with olive oil and place on a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and toast for 10 minutes &ndash; don&rsquo;t forget to flip them after 5 minutes!&nbsp;</li>

<li>Don&rsquo;t wait too long before serving this baked brie! After 25-30 minutes, it&rsquo;ll start to cool. It&rsquo;ll still be just as delicious, just not as gooey or spreadable.&nbsp;</li>

<li>To make this a showstopper, serve the puff pastry baked brie with seasonal fruits like grapes, apple slices, pears, fresh figs or mandarins or as a centrepiece to a cheese board.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Sprinkle over chopped pecans like I did with my&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/easy-maple-pecan-baked-brie-appetizer/">maple pecan baked brie</a>!&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1067" height="1600" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-1067x1600.jpg" alt="gooey brie cheese wrapped in puff pastry" class="wp-image-12982" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-1067x1600.jpg 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101.jpg 1365w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/baked-brie-with-fig-jam-recipe-6101.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make this baked brie with fig jam recipe ahead of time</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Make this delicious appetizer ahead of time. Just assemble the baked brie, but don&rsquo;t brush it with the egg wash. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 1 day. When ready to bake, brush with the egg wash and follow the baking instructions.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Ingredients needed to make this sandwich</h3>
<p><strong>French baguette</strong>: a baguette is my favourite type of bread to use for this sandwich because I like the crispiness of the outside and softness of the inside of the bread. But you could also slices of bread like sourdough or another crusty artisan bread of choice.</p>
<p><strong>Brie cheese:</strong> creamy brie cheese goes delightfully with the sweet fig jam and crunchy apples.</p>
<p><strong>Fig jam:</strong> fig jam or fig preserves work well as a sandwich layer.</p>
<p><strong>Prosciutto:</strong> the salty prosciutto pairs wonderfully with all of the other sweet, creamy</p>
<p><strong>Granny smith apples:</strong> crunchy, tart granny smith apple slices are key to the flavor combination in this sandwich.</p>
<p><strong>Butter:</strong> buttered bread is the best canvas for this perfect sandwich.</p>

<h3>Step by step process to make this brie sandwich recipe</h3>
<p><strong>Step 1:</strong> Cut a baguette in half and then cut into 2 long sandwiches.</p>
<p><strong>Step 2:</strong> &nbsp;Spread a thin layer of butter on both sides of the baguette.</p>
<p><strong>Step 3:</strong> Spread a layer of fig jam on the bottom piece of bread followed by 6-8 slices of apple, 3-4 slices of prosciutto and a layer of brie cheese, 3-4 thick slices. Season with a good pinch of salt and pepper and top with the remaining half of the baguette. Repeat to make a second sandwich. Optional: If you want to grill this sandwich, use pieces of bread that are sliced instead like french bread or sourdough.</p>

<h3>FAQ</h3>
<p><strong>Can I add salad greens to this sandwich?</strong><br>
YES! Peppery arugula would be an absolutely delicious addition to this sandwich.</p>
<p><strong>How can I make this into grilled cheese sandwiches?</strong><br>
I would suggest using more of a sliced bread like sourdough bread or french bread. Butter the outside of the bread slices and then spread the fig jam on the inside of each slice of bread. Layer the rest of the ingredients 6-8 slices of apple, 3-4 slices of prosciutto and 3-4 thick slices of brie cheese and then top with the second slice of bread. Warm a frying pan over medium heat and place the sandwiches butter side down into the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the cheese melts. If the bread is getting too dark, turn the heat down to medium-low heat.</p>
<h3>Storage</h3>
<p>Make this sandwich one day in advance and wrap tightly in plastic wrap or other sandwich wrapper. Store in the fridge for 1 day.</p>

<span style="display: block;">Peppery arugula would be an absolutely delicious addition to this sandwich.</span><div class="wprm-spacer"></div>

<li>
<span style="display: block;">How can I make this into grilled cheese sandwiches? I would suggest using more of a sliced bread like sourdough bread or french bread. Butter the outside of the bread slices and then spread the fig jam on the inside of each slice of bread. Layer the rest of the ingredients 6-8 slices of apple, 3-4 slices of prosciutto and 3-4 thick slices of brie cheese and then top with the second slice of bread. Warm a frying pan over medium heat and place the sandwiches butter side down into the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the cheese melts. If the bread is getting too dark, turn the heat down to medium-low heat.</span><div class="wprm-spacer"></div>
