Ingredients Needed to make this green smoothie recipe
Spinach: I love using baby spinach in my green smoothies but you can swap it out for another leafy green like kale instead. Either one will give this smoothie a lovely green color.
Banana: adding half of a banana is going to make the smoothie nice and creamy. Use whatever banana you have on hand – a ripe banana or frozen banana works too.
Frozen Fruit: use a combination of frozen tropical fruits like mango and pineapple or a mixture of both!
Shredded Coconut: I like to use the unsweetened kind but feel free to swap it out for sweetened coconut if that’s all you have on hand. Either way, the coconut will give this smoothie serious tropical vibes!
Coconut Milk: use coconut milk from a carton but feel free to swap it out for almond milk or coconut water (just note that the smoothie will be a little less creamy without the use of coconut milk).
Protein Powder: use a scoop of protein powder to make this delicious smoothie protein-packed!
Step by Step Process
Step 1: Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth and combined, about 1-2 minutes.

Common Questions when making a tropical green smoothie
Do I have to use frozen fruit in this smoothie?
I do recommend using frozen fruit when you make a smoothie since it gives it a thicker consistency.
I prefer smoothies without bananas, can I omit it?
Having a banana in the smoothie is really going to help with the consistency, making it super creamy. However you could try substituting the banana with half to a whole avocado.
How can I make these into freezer smoothie packs?
Making this tropical green smoothie into freezer smoothie packs is a great idea! Into individual freezer bags measure out the banana, spinach, frozen pineapple, frozen mango and shredded coconut for one smoothie per bag. Store in the freezer until to blend. Blend the frozen ingredients of one smoothie pack with lime juice, coconut milk and optional protein powder to make one smoothie. Note: freezing the ingredients together in smoothie packs may make for a thicker smoothie when blended so adjust by adding more coconut milk to reach the desired smoothie consistency.
