Step by Step Process to make these goat cheese jam pinwheels
Step 1: Roll out the defrosted puff pastry sheet into an approximate 10×10 square onto a piece of parchment paper or floured work surface.
Step 2: Spread the jam on the puff pastry, leaving a ½ – 1 inch border.
Step 3: Sprinkle the goat cheese crumbles on top, and then the chopped pecans.
Step 4: Starting from the bottom, tightly roll up the puff pastry into a log. Do this gently so the filling doesn’t spill out! Wrap the log in parchment paper or plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400F.
Step 5: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 6: After 10 minutes in the freezer, take the puff pastry log out and cut into 1-inch slices using a serrated knife or sharp knife. You should have about 10 pinwheels.
Step 7: Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Using a pastry brush, brush the tops and sides of the pinwheels with your egg wash.
Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes.
Step 9: Place the cooled pinwheels on a serving plate and drizzle with honey and a sprinkle of fresh thyme.
