FAQ

What if I don’t have a ripe peach?
You could try a ripe nectarine instead of a peach since they have similar flavour profiles. In a pinch, you could use 1-2 oz of peach juice or peach nectar and then just use the fresh peach slices you have on hand to garnish the drink.

Do I have to use the pinch of sugar?
You don’t need to use the pinch of sugar when muddling the peaches and basil together, it’s an optional ingredient if you prefer.

Can I use a different white wine for this cocktail?
While I think a sauvignon blanc or a pinot grigio work best in this peach wine spritzer, you could also try a white wine blend.

How can I make this cocktail into a pitcher drink to serve more people?
You could easily make a pitcher of this drink. Times the recipe by how many people you want to serve and muddle the peaches and basil needed in a large pitcher. Pour in the amount of wine according to the recipe and then store in the fridge. Before serving, add ice to the cups you’re serving in and sparkling water to the pitcher. Then simply pour from the pitcher into the ice-filled glasses and cheers!

What are other fruit variations?
While this recipe is meant to be made with peaches, it would be absolutely delightful if you sub in fresh strawberries or fresh blackberries. You could use 3-4 of each in place of the half a peach.
