Ingredients needed to make this blackberry baked brie

Blackberries: Fresh whole blackberries are the best to use in this recipe.

Brie: Make sure to use a wheel of brie in this recipe, specifically double or triple cream brie. A creamy brie will give the most luxurious texture and taste when baked.

Walnuts: Walnuts bring a lovely texture to this recipe.

Honey: The drizzle of honey brings the flavours of this simiple recipe together and provides just a touch of sweetness.

Fresh herbs: I like to use fresh basil to top this brie once it’s baked. However, fresh thyme or fresh rosemary can work as garnish too.

FAQ

How do I make crostini to serve with this blackberry brie?
Preheat your oven to 400°F and slice your baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Brush the slices with olive oil on one hand and place on a single layer on a baking sheet. Toast for 10 minutes, making sure to flip the slices halfway through.  Alternatively you could use a sourdough baguette to make the crostini.

Can I eat the brie rind?
The brie rind is completely edible. In this recipe you’ll score the top rind of the brie to which allows more heat in when baking. And, it makes it much easier to get at the gooey brie once it’s baked.

Where can I buy brie cheese?
You can find brie cheese at most grocery stores. Generally you’ll find it located close to the deli section with other soft cheeses.

What can I substitute the walnuts with if needed?
Chopped pecans or almonds would work perfectly if you need to replace the walnuts!

I highly recommend enjoying all of this brie appetizer once it’s made. But, if you have leftovers you can store in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the microwave for about 1 minute or reheat in the oven at 350F for about 5-10 minutes.
