<p>I&rsquo;m so ready for warmer temperatures and cooking some of my favourite Spring recipes.</p>
<p>While it&rsquo;s a bit of a transition month for seasonal ingredients, I still have you covered with inspiration for recipes to make in March!<span id="more-5820"></span></p>
<p>Is Spring in the air where you are? We are having the most beautiful week of March weather which makes me want to make lighter, fresh meals.</p>
<p>Two of my go-to cookbooks for cooking seasonally are: <a href="https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/food52-a-new-way-to/9780399578007-item.html?ikwid=a+new+way+to+dinner&amp;ikwsec=Home&amp;ikwidx=0#algoliaQueryId=17c132cf669955302999a2cc8d3c9fa0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Food 52&rsquo;s A New Way to Dinner</a> and <a href="https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/date-night-in-more-than/9780762452460-item.html?ikwid=date+night+in&amp;ikwsec=Home&amp;ikwidx=1#algoliaQueryId=30ce26fbe3a52930445a725bd0d3fb20" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Date Night In</a>.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5784" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Easy-Healthy-Baked-Lemon-Chicken-7140.jpg" alt="Easy Healthy Baked Lemon Chicken" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Easy-Healthy-Baked-Lemon-Chicken-7140.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Easy-Healthy-Baked-Lemon-Chicken-7140-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Easy-Healthy-Baked-Lemon-Chicken-7140-187x280.jpg 187w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Easy-Healthy-Baked-Lemon-Chicken-7140.jpg"></p>
<p>I love these books because they have a section for each season which brings constant inspiration in the kitchen. Plus, both books give you full menu options OR you can just make one dish from the list. It&rsquo;s really up to you!</p>
<p>We&rsquo;ve also been making my <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/easy-healthy-baked-lemon-herb-chicken/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Easy &amp; Healthy Baked Lemon Chicken</a> on repeat lately. The lemon brings such a fresh flavour and this dish goes so well with delicious greens! You could even meal-prep the chicken and then use in salads for the week. So many options!</p>
<p>And speaking of salads we still have my <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/winter-citrus-chopped-salad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Citrus Chopped Salad</a> in our heavy dinner rotation; citrus season is STILL on so if you haven&rsquo;t enjoyed enough yet add some to your basket next time you&rsquo;re at the market.</p>
<p>What else is there to make this month? Here are some of my favourite recipes to make in March:</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5832" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_.png" alt="Recipes to Make in March" width="1067" height="1600" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_.png 1067w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_-200x300.png 200w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_-683x1024.png 683w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_-187x280.png 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_-768x1152.png 768w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_-1024x1536.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Recipes-to-make-in-March-from-cookinginmygenes.com4_.png"></p>

<p>Citrus &ndash; <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/easy-healthy-baked-lemon-herb-chicken/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Easy Healthy Baked Lemon Chicken</a></p>
<p>Greens &ndash; <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/the-best-green-tropical-smoothie-recipe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Best Green Tropical Smoothie</a></p>
<p>Mushrooms &ndash; <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/mushroom-tart/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mushroom Tart</a></p>
<p>Peas &ndash; <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/pea-soup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Easy Pea Soup</a></p>
<p>Peppers &ndash; <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/shakshuka-poached-eggs-in-tomato-sauce/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Shakshuka (Poached Eggs in Tomato Sauce)</a></p>
<p>And if you are looking for a delicious baking project for the weekend, my <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/perfect-weekend-morning/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Saskatoon Berry Lemon Scones</a> are THE most popular on the blog! If you don&rsquo;t have access to Saskatoon berries, try blueberries &ndash; they will be just as delicious.</p>

<p>So, I&rsquo;m sharing with you my top smoothie recipes that are tried and tested, smoothies that I make all the time!<span id="more-2920"></span></p>

Variety of flavours is key for keeping smoothie recipes fresh.</p>
<p>From mixing tart and sweet ingredients, to using seasonal ingredients, there is a smoothie recipe to suit everyone&rsquo;s taste!</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2933" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-27.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-27.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-27-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-27-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-27.jpg"><br>
<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/blueberryblisssmoothie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Blueberry Bliss Smoothie</a>:&nbsp;I&rsquo;ve always liked blueberries and this smoothie in my mind is a perfect combination; blueberries and maple syrup for a little sweet; then greek yogurt and almond butter for creaminess; and, ginger to give a tartness.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2928" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-5.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-5.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-5-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-5-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-5.jpg"><br>
<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/tropical-blood-orange-smoothie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tropical Blood Orange Smoothie</a>:&nbsp;With a blend of the tangy citrus from the blood orange, a bit of sweetness from raspberries and mango, plus coconut milk to add some creaminess, this Tropical Blood Orange Smoothie has it all.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2931" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-10.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-10.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-10-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-10-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-10.jpg"><br>
<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/mojito-smoothie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mojito Smoothie</a>: Filled with mint, lime and coconut, these flavours are lively and refreshing; a quick and healthy sip to give you energy in the morning.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2939" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-20.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-20.jpg"><br>
<a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/tropical-smoothie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tropical Smoothie</a>: A mix of all of your favourite beachy flavours like mango and coconut, this Tropical Smoothie is a perfect morning pick-me-up!</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2929" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-6.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-6.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-6-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-6-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-6.jpg"><br>
And finally, my <a href="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/oatmeal-cookie-smoothie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie</a>! A mix of oats, dates, cinnamon and almond milk gives you that perfect cookie flavour for when you are looking for something with a little sweetness.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2932" src="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-17.jpg" alt="My 5 Favourite Smoothie Recipes | cookinginmygenes.com" width="668" height="1002" srcset="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-17.jpg 668w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-17-187x280.jpg 187w, https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-17-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" data-pin-media="https://www.cookinginmygenes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Top-5-Favourite-Smoothies-17.jpg"><br>
