The Fall season is upon us and I couldn’t be more excited for all the recipes to make in September!
I truly love the changing of the seasons; while I will miss all of the fruit and vegetables of the summer, there is much more to look forward to.
So, let’s chat Fall recipe inspiration, how to preserve the remaining garden herbs and easy dinner’s for busy weeknights.
I’ll most likely harvest the remaining vegetables in our garden in the next week or two as the temperature cools. But, with so many fresh herbs still I plan to do a couple of things:
- Dry the rosemary to use during the year; simply put the rosemary stalks in a brown bag with a few holes in it and let it air dry for a couple of days.
- Store some of the fresh herbs in the fridge to use during the week – find some of my best herb storage tips in this post.
- I have a ton of sage, parsley and thyme so I’ll make some butter / oil herb ice cubes for future use in roasted vegetable dishes, roast chicken and even in soup.
And, the remaining tomatoes will go towards one of my top One Pan meals on the blog – One Pan Baked Chicken with Tomatoes & Oregano.
